The Ironwood Spada is a 100% handmade European sword, crafted entirely by hand from raw materials to finished piece, inspired by the elegant fighting swords of 15th–17th century Italy and Spain. "Spada" — Italian for "sword" — describes the slender, agile thrusting swords favoured by duelists and courtiers of Renaissance Europe.
The ironwood scabbard is individually shaped, stained a deep plum, and hand-engraved with flowing botanical scrollwork, so every piece carries its own unique marks. The swept steel guard is hand-formed with a classical finger loop, flowing into a blackened ball pommel. The leather strap fittings are hand-stitched and secured with brass-toned hardware.
